National Science Week

This year Al-Ameen College has partaken in the celebration of National Science week, an Australia wide event that highlights Science and Technology featuring more than 1,000 events delivered across the country by Universities, Schools, Research Institutions, Libraries, Museums and Science centres. 2021 theme is "Food: Different by Design" a subject close to all our hearts. It honours the United Nations International Year of Fruits and Vegetables and the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development. Activities during the week focused on sustainable food futures, and the skills and technologies needed to achieve this important goal.

High School and Primary students at Al-Ameen College zealously participated in Poster and Project competition and Science Exhibition to culminate events on Tuesday the 17th of August. They came up with creative and exciting projects like "hydraulic arm" that could pick up fruits and vegetable, "Farmers 5 in 1" - an efficient machine to help farmers do their tasks while reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, "Battery Chickens" and "Advantages of healthy food versus junk food" to name a few. The students had a fantastic time exploring the importance of food and ways to source and manage food sustainably.
